Lamb Kabsah and Moroccan Mint Tea

I am now sharing with you the meal that I had at D'Arab and also not forgetting the tea. So, do try them out and if they fit you like that white Herve Leger bandage dress, do let me know. You can find the address of D'Arab in my previous post. Enjoy!

An afternoon in Morocco

If Carrie and the girls went to Morocco in SATC2, so did I for lunch. A good friend of mine discovered this place called D'Arab in Mutiara Damansara and I am glad that she introduced it to me. When we reached the place, I was impressed with the Cafe. It was as if I was in Morocco, from the exterior to the interior and even to the plates and saucers. The furniture, cushions, ottoman and even the slippers spoke Moroccan to me.

When the menu came, I ordered Lamb Kabsah and orange juice. The Kabsah was delicious; the basmati was cooked perfectly and the lamb was tender. I could taste the kabsah spices in the lamb. It was served with onions, green chillies and salad together with a bowl of soup and some spicy sauce. After my meal, I had Moroccan mint tea and it was refreshing. I could not think of a better way to complement my lunch than the mint tea.

I strongly recommend that you do try D'Arab Cafe and transport yourself to Morocco for a few hours (and it is more affordable). You can also experience hammam at this place just like the one you can find in almost every Moroccan and Tunisian town. The address is Lot 16, Medan Selera Mutiara Damansara, Jalan PJU 7/16, Mutiara Damansara.

A Single Man

Style lives in this film! It is a debut from Tom Ford and Tom has styled this film impeccably. Set in November, 1962 in LA, it tells a story of a British professor who has lost his partner. Collin Firth plays the lead and he was dressed immaculately from his crisp white shirts to his cufflinks, and to his tie bar. I love the frames that he wore in the film. To me Collin has never looked that good and he topped it up with his British accent. It is like having my favourite banana pudding with vanilla ice cream at Delicious. By the way, Julianne Moore also looks gorgeous and do check out her beehive.
The mood of A Single Man is quite dark and depressing, but it also tells us to appreciate the seemingly smaller moments in life (plus the clothes and furniture), which some of us tend to ignore. I do encourage you to watch this film, as not only it is full of eye candy but there is a lesson that all of us can learn from it.

The Devil Wears Prada

This is my new dream bag; Prada Large Shopping Tote! It is made of Prada's signature tessuto microfiber and it features durable leather handles and signature Prada logo. What I like most about this tote are the adjustable shoulder strap and the sturdy leather handles. The main question here is "Where are you going to get the $$$ Ali?" Well, Abba did sing "I have a dream..." and I will keep on singing it until I carry this black beauty one fine day. So, until then, I will just turn to Devi's Corner banana leaf with crab curry for solace.

Pretty in Green

I took this photo of my friend, Aisha at a party. I just love this ensemble; the cute printed green dress with a bow, the cardigan and those flats. I also love her chunky bracelet. She is a girl, who truly knows her own style.

I have fallen in love with this Bally Tote Bag! I believe it was lust at first sight. Each and every time I pass by Bally, I make sure that I turn and see It and now I'm doing my P&L for June to see if I could afford it. If my L > my P, I guess I have to wait until July. So... I will just have to settle with looking at It and control my urge to have It. This is like saying no to a plate of nasi padang with ayam kampung goreng (with lada merah), masak lemak and crispy kentang goreng berlada (Location: Kampung Baru) because you're watching that waist line of yours. (Sigh...)

Starter

I love food and fashion! My love for those two Fs has given birth to this blog and I would like to share my findings of good food and style in this city or anywhere in the country with you.

I appreciate good food as much as I appreciate a good pair of jeans. Nothing makes me happier than a plate of nasi lemak with sambal paru and telur mata kerbau for breakfast and a glass of nescafe tarik. Well... I also get the same reaction when I see that purple Lacoste Polo T (Italian Fit) or that sleek Prada man clutch.

I look forward to having breakfast tomorrow and I hope my throat would not give up on me (I blame it on this flu that I'm having). Till then, I hope that after reading my blog you would fall in love with food and fashion too.

P/s: I had this delicious Domino's sambal bilis pizza for dinner. The ikan bilis was crunchy but... the sambal was a bit spicy to my liking. However, I do encourage you to try it. Cuba lah and tell me whether sedap ke tak!
